MKV is common for OBS screen recordings and downloaded videos, but many phones, editors and websites only accept MP4. When the video inside is already H.264 it is copied without re-encoding, so the conversion is fast and keeps full quality.
How do I convert MKV to MP4?
Choose your MKV file and the MP4 downloads when it is ready. The converter downloads once, about 30 MB.
Will I lose quality?
Not when the MKV holds H.264 or HEVC video, as OBS recordings usually do. The video is copied as it is. Other formats, such as VP9, are re-encoded to H.264, which takes longer.
Are subtitles kept?
No. The video and the first audio track are copied. Subtitles and extra audio tracks are left out.
Is my video uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser, so your file never leaves your device.
